The Austrian IPCEI Day on 13 May 2024, held at the Infineon Hub in Vienna, brought together representatives from the Austrian IPCEI Partners, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), Austria Wirtschaftsservice (aws) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology to discuss the achievements of IPCEI ME, as well as focus on new possibilities and topics in IPCEI ME/CT.
With Austrian IPCEI Partners like AT&S and NXP present, this collaborative event served as a platform to reflect on the remarkable impacts achieved in the course of IPCEI ME. Each partner presented a summary of their specific focus areas, efforts, achievements, and highlights from the project, followed by an outlook on its successor project IPCEI ME/CT. The inputs provided by the key speakers underscored the significant impacts, made possible through IPCEI ME, especially in fostering growth for STEM talents, startups, companies, and many more stakeholders across Europe. These efforts are fundamental in strengthening the European microelectronic landscape, thus contributing to reaching European sustainability and sovereignty goals.
The audience was further enriched by a brief but impactful introduction on “IPCEI Batteries and Hydrogen” by representatives from AVL, adding an extra layer of depth to the day’s proceedings. Through a shared enthusiasm for IPCEI ME/CT and productive discussions amongst the over 40 participants, this event underscored a joint commitment to driving innovation.
